About this property
Hosted by Wild By Nature
Surrounded by wild meadows and with far-reaching rural views, Old Great Marlborough is a beautifully restored, self-catered farmhouse for large groups wanting to escape it all.
The once forgotten, traditional Welsh farmhouse, is immersed in both history and beauty, sleeping anywhere from 6 to 26 people. Find country comfort with beautifully restored bedrooms, spacious reception rooms, outdoor hot tub and so much more.
The house and its 3-acre gardens are perfectly secluded so you are guaranteed peace and tranquillity. An outdoor hot tub along with a games room and tennis court provide plenty of activity for all ages.
Meanwhile, a large garden room (complete with fruiting grapevine), antique dining room, and 30 x 30 ft living room with a wood-burning stove make the house a luxurious, comfortable setting for large gatherings.
Cooking is a joy in our large, farmhouse kitchen which boasts an Aga and Belfast sink, whilst our well-proportioned bedrooms (all with their own bathrooms), fine artwork, and antique furniture create the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing holiday.
The sleeping accommodation is spread throughout the main, historic part of the house, a games room annex, and a separate bunkhouse with its own kitchenette and dining area. We do have a sofa bed available as an extra sleeping space (If you wish to make use of this you will need to provide your own linen to use it and there is no curtain or bathroom attached)
We have just newly installed a hotel-grade heating and plumbing system so lots of hot water and no cold showers!
The grounds of OGM host a tennis court with a viewing pavilion, a sunken garden, a covered BBQ area and many secluded seating areas.
The gardens feature stunning views of the Black Mountains, Hay Bluff, the magical Skirrid Mountain, rolling hills, farmland, and on a clear night – the Milky Way.
Holidays at OGM are magical throughout the year, thanks to our array of outdoor and indoor activities on-site.
OGM is a self service check in with all the details sent to you before arrival. We are contactable by phone or email throughout your stay.
Well placed on the border of England and Wales, this stunning hilly region attracts hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders. There are pretty towns and villages to explore too, if you can take your eyes off the amazing mountain views.
Set just outside the quaint village of Grosmont, you can enjoy a stroll to Grosmont Castle and finish with a Butty Bach in The Angel pub. We are also near the historic town of Abergavenny where you have a large variety of delicious local suppliers to hand such as the Angel Bakery and the Chapel Cafe.
Set just inside the Welsh border, this stunning mountain region attracts outdoors lovers from all over the world. Old Great Marlborough is as secluded or as connected as you need it to be. Set just outside the pretty village of Grosmont, the market town of Abergavenny is just 15 minutes away. Hay-on-Wye, the world-famous Town of Books, is a 45 minute drive through the mountains and well worth the journey. Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, is an hour away.
We share the driveway with our neighbour. Please stick to our private gardens and the public footpaths. If you have dogs, please make sure to shut the main gate at the bottom of the drive before letting them run free.
